We are pleased to announce that two of North Texas’ most anticipated neighborhoods has begun construction on different phases of each project, respectfully. Plano’s $3 billion Legacy West development has submitted plans for yet another major residential development in the community, which will only add to the already impressive space. According to a press release, the plans will include another luxury apartment development which is slated to break ground on Communications Drive just to the north of the brand new Legacy West Urban Village. Developers have announced that the apartment complex will include more than 400 rental units in the 5-story building and there will be a 7-story parking garage for residents of the building.
This is a huge announcement, as Legacy West is inching near completion and is attracting businesses and residents from all over with its innovative design plan. In addition to the development’s urban living space, Legacy West will also be home to JPMorgan Chase’s impressive new corporate campus, Liberty Mutual Insurance’s new regional office center, and Toyota’s new complex. With all the large corporations moving into the area, it is no wonder that another residential project has been proposed. As we have discussed in recent weeks, the Texas economy has bounced back from the state’s oil crisis and the real estate market in the area is absolutely thriving. There is more new construction in North Texas than we can keep up with, but that is certainly not a bad thing.
An Update on The Canals at Grand Park
In addition to the recently announced residential project at Legacy West, The Cheney Group has learned that Phase two of the three-phase residential project within The Canals at Grand Park has begun. Construction started on the four-story apartment development – which they have named The Maxwell – at the end of May, which will bring an addition 325 residential units to the community, bringing the grand total upon completion to 1,068 units.
But that’s not all that is going on within The Canals at Grand Park – the first phase of a project they are calling The Kathryn is slated to be completed in early 2017. The project first broke ground in January of 2015 and is just now starting to field inquiries for pre-leasing. This apartment complex will boast 365 units when all’s said and done.
