An Update on Wade Park: What Can We Expect?

By Jeff Cheney | On

Wade Park is one of Frisco’s newest mixed-use developments that combines upscale elegance in a modern, eclectic setting. Slated to open in Spring of 2015, the 175-acre development aims to redefine the ‘live, work, play’ motto by changing the way people approach all three. And, in breaking news, the developers of Wade Park (Thomas Land & Development) announced the community will be home to Texas’ first Langham Hotels & Resorts hotel, a top-rated international luxury hotel brand. Known for sophisticated, gracious, and welcoming hospitality as well as elegance when it comes to design and decor, the Langham Hotel is a welcomed surprise for Wade Park. Slated to open in early 2018, the new hotel will be conveniently located along the Dallas North Tollway off Lebanon Road.

About Wade Park

Bringing some of the style and spunk of the uptown Dallas lifestyle to Frisco, Wade Park is located northeast of the Dallas Cowboys new headquarters and multi-use event center that is currently under construction, as well. Upon completion, Wade Park will have a total of 600,000 square feet of specialty retail, including Whole Foods, iPic Theaters, and some of the top national fashion retailers as well as best-in-class Dallas restaurants. The development will also feature a staggering six million square feet of office space and numerous living options for affluent residents who will range from young professionals and families to empty-nesters.

What the New Resort Means for Wade Park

Developers expect the five-star Langham Hotels & Resort hotel to be a centerpiece for Wade Park, as it will be flanked by numerous high-end restaurants, retail shops, with many opportunities for entertainment, offices, and residential buildings. Designed for the new generation, Wade Park is like nothing Texas has ever seen before. The hotel itself will boast an impressive architectural design that is both sleek and modern. Featuring 250 stylish and spacious guest rooms, as well as a handful of one and two-bedroom suites, over 25,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, a breathtaking rooftop pool deck, full-service bar, and courtyard ideal for music and other special events.

Wade Park at a Glance

One of the unique aspects about Thomas Land & Development’s upscale $1.6 billion project is that it aims to bring something new to the area. While many other developments are trying to create spaces for people to “live, work, and play”, they oftentimes fall short. Through a contemporary design and the desire to appeal to the younger generation without scaring off baby boomers, Wade Park should truly be something special. We’ve mentioned the impressive retail and offices spaces as well as the newly announced luxury hotel, but let’s go over what to expect in regards to housing.

Residents of Wade Park will have the opportunity to choose from 1,300 stylish apartment units – some of which will be over retail shops and other in dense-wrap style; 50 chic condominiums; and 127 premiere single-family homes. Furthermore, the development will feature a boutique hotel and a luxury hotel that will offer more than 500 rooms, perfect for visiting business travelers or upscale staycations. The residential options are just one of the main selling points of this impressive development, as homebuyers will have the opportunity to pick the accommodations that best fit their needs and style. And a bonus? All residences, offices, and hotels will be just a matter of steps from entertainment options, including bowling, a movie theater, and nightlife.

So, when can we move in?! The Whole Foods is slated to open September 16, 2016 and the rest of the first phase will have a grand opening in late October or early November 2016. While the environment of the development will have an urban feel, the design of Wade Park features heavy landscaping with mature trees, lush grass, flowers, and large-scale water features as well as designed streetscapes, walkways, and hardscapes. The development is conveniently located off the Dallas North Tollway, making it an unbeatable spot for commuters and those interested in being close to the Big City alike.
